Zambia
In 2008, a sub-regional meeting for Eastern and Southern Africa was organized in Zambia to discuss the decision-making tool for malaria vaccines. The meeting was a collaboration that involved the Roll Back Malaria Partnership, the World Health Organization, and the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative. Zambia also participated in the Benin meeting that was held in 2006 to develop the guide.
Approximately 40 participants, representing a wide range of technical experts on malaria, immunization, and health systems, validated the tool as an important planning tool for countries in the sub-region. They recommended that the tool be disseminated to local and global partners and governments, and that a strategy document be developed for its implementation.
